Here at Article 10 we are committed philanthropists and as such, have decided to put ourselves through the pain and trauma of The Talybont Challenge.
On 22nd September the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association will be putting us through our paces during a gruelling 10 hour challenge. Set in the beautiful valley of Talybont, South Wales the course consists of a hike to the peak of Waun Rydd, a mountain bike ride through a spectacular forest track, finishing off with a paddle in rafted Canadian canoes on the glorious Talybont reservoir. You may be thinking that we are a little crazy for volunteering to do this, but here's why we are...
Whatever one's age, whatever the condition, sight loss can mean a severe loss of mobility. The mission of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association is to provide guide dogs, mobility and other rehabilitation services that meet the needs of blind and partially sighted people. They have 29 teams covering the whole of the UK, who can help people with sight loss re-gain their independence.
