Software manufacturer Microsoft has re-released one of its August 11th patches after it was revealed that the original patch was flawed, it has been revealed.
Computer World has reported that individuals who manually downloaded the update MS08-051 should get the newly released version to fix a number of vulnerabilities within Microsoft PowerPoint.
According to the revised bulletin for the patch: "While these versions did protect against the vulnerabilities discussed in the bulletin, they lacked other important security and reliability updates."
In other news, Microsoft also recently announced it will be testing a prototype of a new form of PowerPoint, pptPlex.
The product is based on a canvas and has been designed to make presentations more intuitive and less rigid.
It allows the user to fill a page with all the information they require and then zoom in and out on different areas depending on what is being discussed.
