Second-grade students at a school in the US have created a number of PowerPoint presentations on their favourite animals.

The Washington County School District Spectrum has reported that students at Horizon elementary school have been researching their topics for the last three weeks and have put together a range of PowerPoint presentations to display their knowledge.

Presentations will be shown to parents and classmates later this week, showcasing the software's ability to be used by individuals of all ages.

Ms Heidi Murray and Mrs Janel Meacham - the class's teachers - noted that the children's technology skills have come along well over the last few weeks.

In related news, Research and Markets recently reported that Maggie Niess has published a new book entitled 'Microsoft Office System - Essential Resource for Teachers'.

Ms Niess noted that it offers advice on how to get the most out of the software when working in a teaching environment.
